The Therapy Called Art

Three years ago, I completed my 200-Hour Integrative Yoga Teacher Training. It was a major milestone in the journey of reconnecting with myself. The long hours spent learning the beautiful, ancient yoga philosophy; immersing ourselves in the profound wisdom of the teaching; exchanging energy and moving our body in unison for at least two hours every single day worked wonders in unblocking deep-seated emotions and energy.

Not only healing, the training unleashed parts of myself I did not even know existed, as one morning I woke up and felt a very strong desire to begin drawing – something I had not thought of doing for decades. So one fine day in 2017, I decided to get myself a set of coloured pencils, watercolour, brushes, quality drawing papers and a few sketch books. I did not know what I was doing, but I t turned out to be one of the best investments I had ever made, as creating and playing with colours has been truly therapeutic for me.
